To describe in words what wonders north Xinjiang is filled with, would surely be an understatement. The whole region is dotted with picturesque lakes and grasslands, mysterious canyons and valleys, breathtaking snow peaks..., which have something for every traveler. This 8 days Xinjiang itinerary takes wanderers on a joy ride to Urumqi, Khorgas, Yining, Zhaosu, Tekes, Kalajun, Nalati and Kuitun.
Tour Itinerary
DAY 1
Urumqi
Transfer via: flight - your arrangement
Activities for today: Airport to hotel transfer
Upon arrival at Urumchi Diwopu International Airport, you are greeted by our representatives. Balance of the day is at leisure.
DAY 2
Urumqi - Khorgas
Activities for today: Sayram Lake
Drive 7 hours (650km) to Khorgas. En route, we will visit the beautiful Sayram Lake.
DAY 3
Khorgas-Yining-Zhaosu-Tekes
Activities for today: Baishi Snow Peak
After breakfast, drive along Yizhao mountain road to Yining. We will pass through some beautiful scenery on our journey through this area including Baishi (white stone) Snow Peak. We will make some photo stops for the beautiful views. Drive to Zhaosu town for lunch and then continue our journey to Tekes.

Khorgas-Yining: 100km 1hr drive
Yining-Zhaosu-Tekes: 160km 5hrs drive
Optional: Ferris wheel or Hot air balloon at Tekes Bagua town.

DAY 4
Tekes – Kalajun – Tekes
Activities for today: Kalajun Grassland, Kuokesu Grand Valley
After hotel breakfast, drive about 1hour (60 km) to Kalajun Grassland, where you will have a wonderful cruise (or raft) in Kuokesu Grand Valley. Take cable car up to the mountaintop and hike (few and not tough) to see 5 main attractions in the area.

DAY 5
Tekes - Nalati
Activities for today: Nalati Grassland
Drive 4.5 hours (240km) to Nalati Grassland, ride horse or hike to the center camp (visit 4 attractions).
Optional: Kazak Golden Horde Song & Dance Performance; 4WD ride to the deep mountain.

DAY 6
Nalati - Kuitun
Activities for today: Volcano Hill
Drive (200km 8hr) through Mt. Tianshan along the former national defense road. We will make a photo stop at the volcano hill in Dushanzi town prior to driving Kuitun.

DAY 7
Kuitun - Urumqi
Activities for today: Dushanzi Grand Canyon
Drive to explore the Grand Canyon at Dushanzi district. Enjoy photo taking and hiking along the natural hike path in the canyon. Drive back to Urumqi. (180km 3hr-drive)
DAY 8
Urumqi/Exit
Activities for today: Hotel to airport transfer
For now it's time to say good-bye... until we meet again. Take your transfer to the airport or consider extending your stay in Xinjiang.

Excess Baggage Charges:
For checked luggage: Adult and children are entitled to a free checked baggage allowance in economy class of 20kg / 44 lbs. The size limit for each piece is 40x60x100cm or 15.7x23.6x39.4 inches. For carry-on luggage: each economy class passenger is allowed one piece of 5kg / 11 lbs. The size limit for each piece is 20x40x55cm or 7.8x15.7x21.6 inches.
